Once upon a time, I tried to build a bookshelf by myself. And, let's be clear, I'm a writer, not a carpenter - decidedly. I was home by myself with some wood, nails, a hammer and some instructions that were barely recognizable as English. I was frustrated, lonely and, before long, completely defeated. I needed help.
Help came in the form of an actual carpenter who in different parts: did the work, guided my hand, included me in the decision-making process and created the bookshelf that I had envisioned - with some features and doodads that I could never have imagined from my carpentry-deficient place in the world. Our collaborative power was infinitely productive.
I've never forgotten that lesson. As I've grown my business, I've sought the brilliance of people outside my expertise - people that can help me, that I can trust, that know more than me. And, I've realized that I've become that person to others. A realization that's morphed quickly into a mission to support other people in growing their businesses by helping them learn about and do the things I can do: writing, blogging, social media, real/personal relationship 'marketing' (ie. growing your business by being authentically you).
I'm a marketing writer smitten with the web and the blogging platform. I'm a consultant who loves listening to your ideas, helps you identify your passions and then propels you into the world with a strategy that feels good to you. I'm a speaker whose passion - for writing, being authentic, following opportunities and building genuine networks and brands - is contagious, instructive and useful. I'm a mentor who knows you can and will accomplish everything you want to accomplish.
